the main part of the buildings have their origin in the 13th Century. It is one of the oldest houses in the area and the only one that is still habitable and inhabited. It has a very interesting history which is visible in some of the architectural features (2 of which are listed). This alone would make it a unique property to own. Its beauty cannot be captured in words .. lying on top of a hill, the property offers privacy and space without being too isolated. All the buildings are structurally sound with good roofs. One roof has been completely renewed in 2001. The electricity has been done some 10 years ago and is in perfect working order.
The main building comprises the large kitchen (65 m2) and louge/living (60 m2) at the ground floor. At the first floor you will find 2 huge bedrooms (each some 60-65 m2) with original stone mantlepieces (1 with a 14th century mural painting) and oak beams. Both rooms have en-suite facilities. Adjacent to the main building is the so-called "Chapelle". With its own entrance, 3 decent sized bedrooms (and 1 tiny room), it would easily convert into a self catering accommodation. Separated by a cosy terrace, covered with grape vines, is the "Cluny Cottage"; a fully self catering gite with kitchen annex living, 5 bedrooms and private terrace. In the large partly converted barn you will find an additional bedroom as well as various other "hiding places", a seperate toolroom, washroom and a lot of working space both on the ground floor as well as on the large landing. Attached to the barn is a large Dutch (open) barn that provides parking for at least 6 cars. All around the property are beautifully kept gardens with several terraces, providing lovely views. This property would be too large for most families to serve as a house only. Anyone with an interest in renting out parts as gites or bed and breakfast accommodation is more than welcome to come and have a look !
