	On the edge of the village of Nercillac, close to the historic towns of Cognac and Jarnac, a restored gatehouse with shared use of the owners 38 x 16ft pool.
The Gatehouse affords privacy, with it’s own large enclosed terrace, built in BBQ and direct access to the pool. A large grassed area runs down from the terrace to the river Soloire, which is suitable for canoeing and fishing. The village has, in easy walking distance, a baker, butcher, small supermarket, post office, pharmacy and garage/tabac. Larger supermarkets are within a 6km drive towards Cognac, and in Cognac itself is an excellent covered market open everyday until 12.30pm. Local amenities include a tennis court in the village, Cognac tennis Club, and Coganc Golf club which is beautifully kept, never crowded and great for lunch! The Charente region is also ideal for cycling. The area abound with restaurants, chateaux and of course the famous Cognac houses of Hennessey, Martell, Courvoisier, Hine etc, all of which have escorted visits. Royan, and the coast are about 1hr 15mins drive away, with many beautiful beaches and excellent seafood. Bordeaux and its wine region are again within easy reach.
Accommodation consists of: - a large living room with french windows opening onto the terrace, - a well equipped modern kitchen, - 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two singles. A sofabed is available in the living room. A washing machine is available in an outhouse. Bed linen is provided, but not towels.
