Local village shops include a boulangerie, epicerie, post office, pharmacie, doctors, hairdressers, tabac and bar all within walking distance i.e. 600 metres. Included in the price is a large swimming pool, with sun beds, barbecue area, patio area and cleaning service with all towels and bed linen provided, also cots and high chairs are available. There is bike hire and also a video library for a very small charge. There is ample parking space for cars etc. wine soft drinks and ice creams are also for sale, on request. The farmhouse is in a small tranquil village, in the midst of the vine yard countryside. With lots of cognac and wine tasting in the surrounding area. Places of interest are numerous, with coastal areas being 40 min away. The principle towns are Angouleme, Cognac, Rochefort and Saintes. The Val de Charente is a haven for nature, fishing and golf whether on foot, horseback, bicycle or mountain bike the cross-country paths are endless. Information on the area with small maps will be available should you need them. Local specialities include world famous cognac, oysters, mussels, cagouilles and jonchée cheese.
